Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Crewable is an automation tool for self-employed tradespeople in the United States. The service sends automated text messages and emails on your behalf to your customers (for example, replying to missed calls, chasing invoices, and requesting Google reviews). We process limited personal information to make that possible.
2. Information we collect
From you, our customer
- Account information: name, business name, email address, phone number, trade type, password (stored hashed).
- Billing information: we use Stripe to process payments. Stripe stores your card details; we store only the billing metadata Stripe returns (subscription status, plan, last-four digits).
- Usage data: how you interact with the product — pages visited, features used, approximate location from IP address, device and browser type, timestamps.
- Content you create: the customer records, job notes, message templates, and settings you enter into Crewable.
About your customers (end users)
To perform the service you signed up for, Crewable processes limited information about the customers you communicate with:
- Phone number, name (where you provide it), and the content of messages sent or received through Crewable.
- Call events forwarded from your business number (for example: "a call was missed at 2:41 PM").
We process this information on your instruction as a service provider to you. You are the controller of your customers' data and are responsible for having a lawful basis to text them (see our Terms of Service).
3. Why we collect it
- To provide, operate, and secure the service.
- To send automated messages you have configured.
- To bill you and manage your subscription.
- To communicate with you about your account (confirmations, trial reminders, security notices).
- To improve the product (aggregated analytics, debugging).
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We share it only with the subprocessors listed below, each of whom processes data on our behalf under their own security and privacy obligations:
| Subprocessor | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and authentication |
| Twilio | Sending and receiving SMS on your behalf |
| Anthropic | Generating the text of automated replies |
| Stripe | Payment processing and subscription billing |
| Google Places API | Looking up your business for review links |
| Fly.io / Vercel | Hosting our application and marketing site |
We may also disclose information when legally required (subpoena, court order, law enforcement request) or to defend our legal rights.
5. How long we keep it
We keep account and message data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel, we retain your data for up to 90 days in case you reactivate, then delete or anonymize it. Billing records are kept for 7 years to meet tax and accounting obligations. You can request earlier deletion at any time (see Your Rights below).
6. Security
We encrypt data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. Access to production data is limited to the minimum number of people required to operate the service. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to fix inaccurate information.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your account and associated data.
- Portability: request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Opt-out of sale/share: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@getcrewable.com. We'll respond within 30 days. California residents can also read our California-specific notice below.
8. Cookies and analytics
The Crewable product uses a small number of essential cookies and local storage entries to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. The marketing site uses no analytics cookies at the time of writing; we'll update this policy if that changes.
9. SMS and TCPA
Crewable is the technology that sends messages; you are the sender. By using Crewable, you confirm you have a lawful basis (express consent, established business relationship, or other applicable basis) to contact each customer via SMS. Every automated message includes opt-out instructions, and Crewable will stop sending automated messages to any recipient who replies STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, or similar.
10. Children
Crewable is for use by business operators over the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" (we do neither). To exercise these rights, email support@getcrewable.com. We won't discriminate against you for exercising any CCPA right.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email and post a notice on the site. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when the current version took effect.
